Technology Access Program (TAP)
Sustainable Technology Solutions
Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) is a youth-led, tech-oriented civil society organization based in Tigray, Ethiopia. Established in 2023 in response to the devastating impacts of war, STS believes technology can be a powerful tool for peacebuilding, inclusion, and sustainable human development.
STS bridges emergency response and long-term resilience through digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and youth leadership — focusing on peacebuilding, social cohesion, transitional justice, gender inclusion, good governance, and youth & women empowerment.
Our flagship Technology Access Program (TAP) develops context-responsive digital solutions and promotes ethical, inclusive technology use. Key partners: USAID, Global Affairs Canada, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Search for Common Ground, ELiDA, ZOA, ACSOT, and others. We’ve reached 1,000+ young people and received the Pioneers SDGs Award 2025.

📌 Our Interventions
Youth Empowerment
We promote meaningful youth participation in decision-making. We strengthen capacities through trainings, workshops, storytelling, mentorship, and support youth-led startups while advocating for youth-friendly policies through digital platforms.
Peace Building & Social Cohesion
STS facilitates dialogues, peace campaigns, and digital storytelling to foster understanding. We combat hate speech and reduce misinformation in online and offline spaces through peacebuilding trainings.
Technology & Innovation
STS combines leadership development, digital skills, and entrepreneurship through innovation labs, business incubators, and mentorship. We enable youth to create sustainable livelihoods with ethical technology.
Transitional Justice & Good Governance
STS develops digital tools for documentation, complaints handling, and civic engagement. We strengthen youth participation in justice processes and promote transparent governance systems.
Advocacy & Capacity Building
STS engages in policy dialogue, strategic communication, and public awareness campaigns. We produce press releases and lead campaigns on peace, youth inclusion, governance, and human rights.
Cross Cutting Issues
STS mainstreams youth leadership, gender equality (GESI), and protection for children, persons with disabilities, and conflict-affected groups using conflict-sensitive, trauma-informed approaches.
Mental Health & Psychosocial Support
STS integrates technology into MHPSS through digital storytelling and peer-support platforms, creating safe spaces for healing and reducing stigma around mental health in conflict-affected populations.
Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment
STS promotes gender equality through digital storytelling and leadership development, closing the digital gender gap and supporting women’s participation in peacebuilding and decision-making.
